Marta Ybarra BA, MA

13 Years of Experience

Sessions from: 65€.

My Credentials:

I am a psychologist and an accredited psychotherapist. I have over 13 years of clinical experience and continuous training.

My professional journey has taken place in both private practice and various institutions. I worked at Hospital de día psiquiátrico Montreal in the child and adolescent unit, Hospital Universitario La Zarzuela and Clínica López Ibor, among others.

Currently, I work in my private practice, and I am a member of the Institute of Asociación Psicoanalítica de Madrid (APM), a branch and constituent of the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA), and the European Federation for Psychoanalysis (FEP) in Spain, where I undergo ongoing and rigorous training that allows me to stay up-to-date with the latest developments.

My Approach:

I believe that psychotherapy helps us get to know ourselves better and frees us from the bonds of the past, allowing us to become a freer and truer version of ourselves.

I offer a safe, confidential, and respectful environment in which, together, we will work to shed light on your situation, with the hope of finding meaningful and lasting ways of navigating life.

About Me:

I was born and raised in Bilbao, Spain. After spending part of my adolescence in London, I came to Madrid to study Clinical Psychology. I have always loved reading a lot, and I believe that my desire to become a psychologist was influenced both by my need to understand myself and others and my passion for listening to stories. During my college years, what interested me the most were the subjects of depth psychology that understood the human being from their individuality and personal history. That’s how I leaned towards psychodynamic psychology and began my own therapeutic process, which I consider an essential part of a therapist’s training. After university, I have continued my education through master’s degrees, seminars, and clinical supervision, enriching and deepening my work with my patients.

I am an English-speaking psychologist in Madrid, specialised in working with adults and teenagers.
