My Credentials:

I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Following my degree, I worked as an individual and family therapist at Morrison Child & Family Services in Portland, supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families. In 2016, I moved to Germany, where I worked as a school counselor supporting children and families. This experience deepened my understanding of life transitions, identity development, and cross-cultural mental health care. I hold state authorization as a Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie in Germany, with authorization to practice psychotherapy under the German Heilpraktikergesetz. My additional training includes CBT for Anxiety through the Beck Institute, Restorative Practice, affirmative treatment of gender-variant and transgender youth, mindfulness, Seeking Safety, Equity & Inclusion, and DSM-5 and ICD-10-CM.

My Approach:

I believe that every person has strengths within themselves, even when stress, anxiety, life transitions, or emotional pain make those strengths difficult to access. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand your experiences, and reconnect with yourself in a more compassionate and grounded way. My work is grounded in the Experiential Model and integrates evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Together, we may explore emotional regulation, coping strategies, communication, relationships, family dynamics, and patterns that affect your daily life and wellbeing. I view therapy as a collaborative process. We will work together to identify meaningful goals, strengthen self-awareness, and develop practical strategies that feel realistic and supportive. I encourage clients to bring what we explore in sessions into their everyday lives, whether at home, school, work, in relationships, or within their wider community. When helpful, and always with your consent, supportive people such as family members or other trusted professionals may also be involved.

About Me:

Outside of my professional work, I am deeply connected to nature and the sense of grounding it provides. Hiking and running are important parts of my own self-care and reflect my belief that healing is often a steady, unfolding process.

Summary:

I am an English-, Bosnian-, Croatian-, and Serbian-speaking counsellor offering individual and family therapy to adolescents, adults, and families. My work supports clients experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship difficulties, emotional challenges, identity and belonging concerns, and family dynamics. I use an experiential, collaborative approach informed by CBT and DBT, with a focus on emotional regulation, coping strategies, self-awareness, communication, and resilience. I aim to create a compassionate, respectful space where clients can better understand themselves, develop practical tools, and work towards meaningful change.
