1 Year of Experience

Sessions from: €60.

To make therapy more accessible and inclusive, I utilize a sliding fee scale. This approach allows me to tailor the cost of sessions based on individual circumstances, ensuring that therapy remains affordable for everyone seeking support. My standard fee is €85, but I offer a reduced rate of €60 for students and currently unemployed clients. I only provide in-person sessions on Mondays and Thursdays. For more information about the sessions, you can visit my website: www.newleafpsychology.nl

My Credentials:

I am a Psychologist based in the Netherlands, where I have completed my studies. I have obtained an MSc in Clinical Psychology and a second in Forensic and Legal Psychology. I am a member of the NIP (Dutch Association for Psychologists; 244523) and have worked in private practice since obtaining my psychology degree. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have completed an ISST-approved Schema Therapy training. My areas of specialty include but are not limited to low self-esteem, relationship issues (including family dynamics), stress and burnout, anxiety and related issues (e.g., social anxiety & GAD), mood instability and depressive symptoms, loneliness, and grief and loss.

My Approach:

During the first session, we will spend some time exploring the reason that brings you into therapy and your expectations for treatment. We will also identify your goals, and I will answer any questions or concerns that you may have regarding therapy. In the following sessions, an assessment and treatment phase will follow.

My primary approach is through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), although I believe in an integrative framework. Our work together will focus on your thoughts and behavior within and outside our sessions. Drawing from a Schema Therapy model, an essential aspect of my approach involves delving into your personal history to identify and address any maladaptive patterns, ultimately helping you gain a better understanding of yourself, establish healthy roles, develop secure attachments, and promote a more fulfilling life.

I am dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming environment for my clients. As an expat myself, I understand the challenges of finding a safe space in a foreign country or new surroundings. My approach is entirely client-centered, meaning I will tailor my skills to your unique needs throughout our therapeutic work together. You can expect a judgment-free and respectful environment. I also encourage clients to be open and provide feedback on our work together because our ultimate goal is to help you.

Ready to embark on your journey to personal growth and well-being? Do not hesitate to contact me to explore how we can work together.

About Me:

A psychologist with a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and another in Forensic-Legal Psychology, I also bring a rich background of international experience to my practice. Originally from Italy, I’ve lived in Germany, France, and Canada, and for the past six years, I’ve called the Netherlands home. These multicultural experiences have enriched my perspective, allowing me to empathize with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, and have nurtured an open-minded mindset that I bring to my work.

I’ve always been fascinated by the intricacies of human behavior and cherished connecting with people. I’m driven by the desire to make a positive impact on others’ lives, which led me to choose this rewarding career. Therapy, to me, is a valuable and transformative tool for helping individuals in their journey toward personal growth and, ultimately, achieving a more fulfilling life. I view myself as a compassionate facilitator for my clients, adapting to their unique needs and goals and offering validation and empowerment as we collaboratively identify and break the negative patterns that hold them back.

Beyond my professional life, I’m passionate about classic films, literature, arts and crafts, and good food. I’ve also embraced a newfound hobby since moving to the Netherlands: cycling!

I am an English and Italian-speaking Psychologist based in Leiden, the Netherlands, and working with adults.
