I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with full membership in the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP, no. 25844), and I am also affiliated with the British Psychological Society (BPS, GMBPS no. 471362) and the American Psychological Association (APA, member ID C2000220644). I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology, specialising in Family Psychology and Family Intervention, and a Master’s degree in Clinical and Health Psychology. My clinical experience spans primary healthcare, private practice, and community and educational settings, working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across the lifespan. Alongside my clinical work, I coordinate an international psychological support programme delivering services across multiple European countries, with a strong focus on expatriates, multicultural families, and cross-cultural transitions.
Living abroad can be enriching, but also emotionally complex. Many people experience disconnection, identity shifts, relationship strain, and stress related to ongoing transitions. You do not have to navigate this alone. I offer evidence-based, culturally sensitive therapy tailored to expatriate life. My approach is integrative and client-centred, combining systemic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed practices. Together, we explore your experiences in context—your relationships, cultural background, and current environment—while developing practical strategies to help you feel more grounded, resilient, and emotionally balanced. I work with concerns including anxiety, depression, burnout, relocation stress, cultural adjustment, identity and belonging difficulties, relationship and family challenges, grief, and major life transitions. My focus is on emotional regulation, relational patterns, and adaptation to change.
I am a native-level speaker of Portuguese and English and offer therapy in both languages. I also work comfortably with Spanish- and French-speaking clients, supporting a diverse international community. I provide both online and in-person sessions, offering flexibility for clients living internationally or managing mobile and busy lifestyles. Alongside my clinical practice, I am an active researcher in resilience and mental health, particularly in relation to adversity and environmental stress. This ongoing work informs and enriches my clinical approach. My aim is to offer a warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive space where you feel understood not only as a client, but as a person navigating life across cultures. Together, we work towards greater clarity, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
